Jotform automation · runs weekly
Build Jotform response reports with AI
Monday morning someone opens the form, scrolls through the week's submissions, builds a report by hand and pastes the numbers into a message to the team.
Cotlet does it in your own Jotform account with list_forms, list_submissions and create_report, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.
Hosted · nothing to install or maintain
Can Jotform do this on its own?
Jotform builds reports in the app (Excel, CSV and Report Builder) and its REST API lists and creates reports (checked 17 Oct 2026). The official MCP has 5 tools and none of them builds a report. Nothing reads the week's submissions and writes the summary for you on a schedule, which is the gap this job fills.
How you do it in Jotform today
- In My Forms the user picks the form and opens its Reports section.
- The user clicks Add New Report and chooses Excel Report (CSV works the same way), then sets the name and the fields to include.
- The user clicks Create, then copies the report link or downloads the file.
- For charts, the user opens the form's More menu and clicks Create Report, which makes a default visual report in Report Builder with the form title and charts for the responses.
- To share a visual report, the user clicks Publish in Report Builder and picks Private, Public or Company access.
- The steps are the same every week, and the summary of what changed is still written by hand.
How to build Jotform response reports with AI
Every Monday, build an Excel report of last week's submissions for my Event registration form and tell me how many people signed up and which ticket type is most common. - 01
Find the form
list_forms matches the form by title. If two forms share a name, the agent stops and asks which one, because a report built on the wrong form goes to the wrong people.
- 02
Read the window
list_submissions runs with the dates of last week and pages through the cursor until the list ends, so a busy week is counted in full and not only its first page.
- 03
Count what came in
The agent counts submissions and groups them by the answer you named, here the ticket type, and keeps the counts for the message.
- 04
Create the file
create_report makes the Excel report for that form with the fields you asked for. It returns the link, which the agent includes in the summary.
- 05
Ask before sharing
create_report asks for your OK by default, because a report link can reach people outside the form. If the report was visual, the agent leaves its access level as Jotform set it and tells you what it is.
What you get back
Event registration, 6 to 12 Oct 2026
Submissions: 42
Ticket type:
- Standard: 25
- VIP: 11
- Student: 6
Excel report: https://www.jotform.com/excel/example-event-registration
The 3 largest groups are in the file; no private answers are in this message. Other ways to ask
- Build a CSV report of all submissions since the 1st of the month and give me the link, with no summary.
- Create a visual report for the Customer feedback form and tell me its access level.
- List my existing reports for the Event registration form and tell me which one is oldest.
- Every Friday, compare this week's submission count with last week's and report the change.
What Jotform allows, and what to know first
- Report Builder builds a report from one form at a time; Jotform suggests the Combine Submissions integration to join several forms.
- A visual report has three access levels, Private Report (needs a Jotform account), Public Report (anyone with the link) and Company Access (your email domain only).
- Share links of a visual report can have an expiry date, and embedded reports update with live data.
- Excel and CSV reports are plain data exports; a visual report is a separate kind of report made in Report Builder.
create_report asks for your OK by default. To run it weekly without you, switch confirmation off for that tool in your dashboard.

Frequently asked questions
Is it safe to connect Jotform to Cotlet?
Yes. You sign in to Jotform yourself, in your own Cloud Browser in the EU, and we never save your password. Your agents only get Jotform once you enable it, every background request is listed, and the browser profile is stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM, the cipher 1Password uses for its vaults. The AI model never sees a login, posts and messages wait for your OK, and Disable for agents cuts access in one click. Independent scanners grade cotlet.dev A+ on Qualys SSL Labs, securityheaders.com and Mozilla Observatory; live results are on https://cotlet.dev/security.
