Partiful automation · runs daily
Approve pending Partiful guests by their questionnaire answers
Your launch party has Guest Approval on, and every morning new requests wait as Pending. Bulk actions would let everyone in, so you open each name, read the answers and change the dropdown one guest at a time.
Cotlet does it in your own Partiful account with list_guests, get_event and approve_guests, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.

Can Partiful do this on its own?
Partiful offers approval per guest and Bulk actions > Approve all pending guests, both by hand (checked 12 Oct 2026). Partiful documents no API and no approval by rule, so screening by answers means reading every request yourself, and on a ticketed event within the 7-day card hold.
By hand
How you do it in Partiful today
- Open the event and click the circle that shows how many guests are attending to open the guest toolbar.
- Click a Pending guest's name to see their RSVP and Guest Questionnaire answers.
- Use the dropdown next to the name to mark the guest Approved, or leave them Pending for later.
- On a ticketed event, tap the check mark next to the name in the Guest List instead; that approval charges the card Partiful put on hold.
- The only shortcut is Bulk actions > Approve all pending guests, which lets in everyone. Screening by answers stays one name at a time, and on a ticketed event a request left too long loses its card hold.

How to approve pending Partiful guests by their questionnaire answers
Prompt
Approve all pending guests to my launch party who answered the questionnaire with a company name, and list the rest for me. - 01
Agree the rule in plain words
You say who gets in: "a company name in the first answer" or "members of the run club". The agent turns that into a check per question and shows you two sample decisions before it touches anyone.
- 02
Read only the queue
The agent pulls just the pending requests, not the whole guest list. Requests answered since the last run are new; ones you already held for review are not asked about twice.
- 03
Sort into three piles
Clear matches go to approve. Clear misses are listed with the reason and stay Pending. Blank, joke or vague answers ("tbd", a single emoji) go to a pile for you, because approving is the step that lets a person in.
- 04
Respect the guest limit
get_event shows the cap. The agent approves no more matches than the free spots and reports how many qualified guests are still waiting, instead of pushing the event past its limit.
- 05
Approve on your OK, never remove
The approve pile goes through in one call after you confirm. The agent does not remove anyone; misses stay Pending until you decide, since the rule can be wrong too.
What you get back
Example data
Launch party, Fri 24 Oct: 14 Pending requests.
Approved after your OK: 9 with a company name, for example Maya Chen (Northwind Labs).
For you to review: 3, answers "tbd", "secret" and blank.
No match: 2 without a company, left Pending.
Guest limit 80: 70 approved now, 10 spots free. Other ways to ask
- Every morning at 9, approve pending guests for the run club social who say they are members, and send me the rest.
- Show me who is still Pending on the gallery opening and why each one does not fit my rule, without approving anyone.
- Approve pending requests for the ticketed workshop from people who named a design school, oldest first.
Before you automate it
What Partiful allows, and what to know first
- Partiful ticketed events with Guest Approval place a hold on a Pending guest's card, and the hold expires after 7 days.
- Approving a Pending guest on a Partiful ticketed event charges the card, grants the tickets and tells the guest the tickets are confirmed.
- Turning on Guest Approval for a Partiful event that already sold tickets approves every existing buyer automatically.
- Partiful cannot run Guest Approval and Chip In on the same event; its help center suggests a Venmo, Cash App, PayPal or GoFundMe link in the custom link field instead.
approve_guests asks for your OK by default. To run it daily without you, switch confirmation off for that tool in your dashboard.
