Send a Partiful Text Blast to guests by RSVP status

An hour before the dinner the start moves to 7:30 and the buzzer is broken, so everyone who said Going or Maybe needs the door code now. You are cooking, and the Text Blast button sits at the bottom of the event page on your phone.

Cotlet does it in your own Partiful account with list_events and send_text_blast, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.

Can Partiful do this on its own?

Partiful has no API, webhook or Zapier action for Text Blasts (checked 12 Oct 2026). Its only automatic messages are auto-reminders: Invited and Maybe guests hear from Partiful 1 week before the event and Going guests 2 hours before. Invited guests get them only if they already have a Partiful account. A host can switch them on or off under Edit > Settings > Auto-Reminders; the help center describes no way to change their timing or text, so every other update is a Text Blast typed by hand.

By hand

How you do it in Partiful today

  1. Open the event page in Partiful. On mobile the Text Blast button sits at the bottom of the screen; on the web it is in the right-hand toolbar.
  2. Tap New Blast and write the message.
  3. Select the guest statuses that should get it: Going, Maybe, Can't Go or Invited. Partiful only reaches guests who RSVP'd or were invited through Partiful; people who only got the link in a group chat and never RSVP'd are not registered as Invited.
  4. Hit Send. A Text Blast cannot be edited after it goes out, so a wrong door code costs a second blast.
  5. After the party, repeat the same steps for a thank-you or a lost-and-found note. Counting how many of the 10 blasts are gone, and which group already heard what, is left to you.

With an agent

How to send a Partiful Text Blast to guests by RSVP status

Prompt

Text everyone who is Going or Maybe to my rooftop dinner that the door code is 4512 and we start 30 minutes late.
  1. 01

    Pin down the event

The agent matches the event you named against list_events by title and date. Two similar titles in the same week stop the run with a question, because a sent blast cannot be pulled back.

  2. 02

Pick statuses from what the message says

Logistics (door code, new time, new address) go to Going and Maybe. A nudge to answer goes to Invited only. A thank-you after the party goes to Going. The agent shows you the chosen groups next to the draft.

  3. 03

Catch what would block or garble it

An Invited group above 100 people cannot get a blast, so the agent offers Going and Maybe instead. Words from Partiful's restricted list, such as alcohol or fireworks, turn the text into a bare event link, so it proposes a rewording like "bring a drink to share" instead of "BYOB wine".

  4. 04

    Spend the cap with care

When only a few blasts remain, the agent merges two updates into one message instead of sending them minutes apart. With none left it tells you and suggests a comment on the event page, which Partiful also pushes to guests.

  5. 05

Send on your OK and count

The blast leaves only after you approve the final wording. The agent then reports how many people each status reached and what is left of the event's allowance, and notes that people invited by email who have not answered will read it in their inbox.

What you get back

Example data

Rooftop dinner, Sat 17 Oct, 7:00 pm.
Sent after your OK: "Door code is 4512. We now start at 7:30, see you soon!"
Reached 37 guests: Going 28, Maybe 9.
Invited (31) skipped, as you asked for Going and Maybe only.
Reworded "bring wine" to "bring a drink to share" so Partiful sends the text, not a link.
Blasts used on this event: 3 of 10.

Other ways to ask

  • Tomorrow at noon, text everyone still Invited to my launch party to RSVP by Friday.
  • Two days after Saturday's dinner, thank the Going guests and ask them to add their photos to the event album.
  • How many Text Blasts are left on the rooftop dinner? Send the parking note only if at least 3 remain.

Before you automate it

What Partiful allows, and what to know first

  • Partiful caps each event at 10 Text Blasts sent to guest categories such as Going, Maybe, Can't Go and Invited.
  • Partiful refuses Text Blasts to the Invited group once it holds more than 100 guests; auto-reminders still reach those guests if they are on.
  • Partiful does not deliver Text Blast content about cannabis, CBD, fireworks, alcohol, tobacco, firearms, adult content, hate speech, gambling or prescription drugs; such a blast arrives as a link to the event instead.
  • Partiful accepts Text Blasts until 60 days after the event date, which leaves room for a thank-you or a note about lost items.

send_text_blast asks for your OK by default. To run it weekly without you, switch confirmation off for that tool in your dashboard.

Frequently asked questions

Can I fix a typo in a Partiful Text Blast after it went out?

No. Partiful Text Blasts cannot be edited after sending. You can hide one from the Activity Feed in the Text Blasts panel, and a corrected message uses another of the 10 blasts. Source: Partiful Help, "Can I edit my Text Blast after sending it?"

What can I do when all 10 blasts are used?

Partiful suggests leaving a comment on the event page, which notifies your guests. Source: Partiful Help, "What's the maximum number of text blasts I can send?"
