Pause a PushPress membership for injury or travel

1. Open the member profile in Core and find the active plan.
2. Click the three dots on the plan and choose Pause Plan.
3. Set the Pause on Date and, if the member gave one, the Resume on Date; leave it blank for an indefinite pause. Click Pause Plan.
4. If the gym charges a hold fee, add the Hold Fee plan to the profile as well, and cancel it again when the member returns.
5. The pain: the pause and the hold fee are two plans that have to stay in step, and an indefinite pause stays paused until someone remembers to resume it.

Pause Alex for a month from Monday while she recovers from knee surgery. We charge the usual hold fee.

   Read the request

   From the message the agent takes the start date and either an end date or a length ("a month", "until mid-July") and turns the length into a resume date. With no end given, it asks whether you want an indefinite pause.

   Pick the plan to pause

   get_member lists every plan on the profile. The agent pauses the recurring membership and leaves punch cards, a Hold Fee plan and appointment packages alone. A plan that is already Paused or Pending Cancel is reported, not touched.

   Check the bill date

   If the next bill date falls before the pause starts, the agent says so: the member is billed once more, and the unused days come back as credit on resume. You can move the start date or accept it.

   Pause after your OK

   pause_member_plan runs with the dates you approved. When your gym charges a hold fee, the agent reminds you to add the Hold Fee plan in Core, since Cotlet has no tool that adds plans.

   Tell you what happens on return

   With a resume date set, Core restarts billing on its own. The agent puts the resume date and the credited days in its report so you can tell the member what to expect.

Alex Kim: Unlimited paused from Mon 19 Oct to Thu 19 Nov 2026 (knee surgery).
Billing: no charges while paused. Paid until 25 Oct, so 6 unused days are credited on resume and the next bill date moves out by 6 days.
Hold fee: add your Hold Fee plan (20.00 USD/month) in Core and cancel it on 19 Nov.
Left as is: her 10-class punch card.

• PushPress charges nothing while a plan is Paused, even when the next bill date shown on the profile stays the same.
• On resume, PushPress counts the unused days from the Pause on Date to the Paid Until Date, credits them and moves the next bill date out by that many days.
• A PushPress hold fee is not part of Pause Plan: it is its own monthly plan template with Allow Check-ins set to No, and a member whose Hold Fee plan is not cancelled pays it on top of the resumed membership.
• The PushPress Staff App shows paused and pending paused plans on the member profile, so coaches on the floor can see a freeze.

pause_member_plan asks for your OK by default. To run it on a schedule without you, switch confirmation off for that tool in your dashboard.
