Skool automation · runs weekly
Schedule a weekly Skool post and pin it
Monday's challenge post is what keeps a Skool group moving, yet it only goes up when an admin remembers to write it, publish it, pin it and unpin the old one.
Cotlet does it in your own Skool account with list_posts, create_post and pin_post, called by your AI agent, an n8n workflow or a script.

Can Skool do this on its own?
Skool has no scheduled publishing that its Help Center documents, and no API for posts (checked 12 Oct 2026). The Zapier plugin, Pro plan only, has two actions, invite a member and give a member access to a course, and neither creates or pins a post.
By hand
How you do it in Skool today
- An admin opens the group feed, writes the post in the composer and picks a category, usually an admin-only one such as Announcements set up under Settings > Community > Categories.
- After publishing, the admin opens the post, clicks the Three Dots Menu and chooses Pin to feed, or Pin to course page to show it inside a Classroom lesson.
- Skool holds at most 3 pinned posts in the feed, so last week's challenge has to be unpinned before the new one fits next to the rules and start-here pins.
- The whole routine happens by hand every week: the Skool Help Center describes no way to schedule a post for later, so a missed Monday means a quiet week.
With an agent
How to schedule a weekly Skool post and pin it
Prompt
Every Monday at 9:00, post this week's challenge in the Announcements category of yourgroup, pin it to the feed and unpin last week's challenge. - 01
Find last week's pin
Your agent reads the Announcements category with list_posts and looks for its own pinned post from the previous run, matched by the title pattern you gave ("Week N challenge").
- 02
Check the pin budget
If three posts are already pinned and none of them is last week's challenge, the agent stops and asks which pin to drop, because the other pins (rules, start here) are usually ones you chose by hand.
- 03
Publish the new post
create_post goes into the category you named. If that category is admin-only and the account is a moderator, the agent reports the role problem instead of posting into a different category.
- 04
Swap the pins
pin_post pins the new post and sets pinned to false on last week's challenge. Pinning reaches nobody and is undone with one call, so it does not wait for your OK; the post itself does by default.
- 05
Report the link
The agent returns the new post URL and the current pin list, so you can check the feed from your phone.
What you get back
Example data
Posted "Week 13 challenge: write one cold email" in Announcements
https://www.skool.com/yourgroup/week-13-challenge-write-one-cold-email
Pinned to feed: Week 13 challenge, Start here, Group rules
Unpinned: Week 12 challenge (31 comments) Other ways to ask
- Every Friday, post a recap of the week's top three posts in Wins and pin it to the Week 4 lesson page in Classroom.
- On the first of each month, post the new reading list in Announcements and keep it pinned for the whole month.
- Draft next Monday's challenge from the comments on this week's one and wait for my OK before posting.
Before you automate it
What Skool allows, and what to know first
- Skool allows up to 3 pinned posts in the community feed and up to 12 pinned posts on each Classroom page, and one post can be pinned to both at once.
- Skool documents pinning as an admin ability, so the account behind this job should be a group admin rather than a moderator.
- A Skool group can have up to 10 categories, each set to Members or Admins posting permission, and an Admins category accepts posts from admins only.
- Each Skool category has its own sort (Default by engagement, New, Top week or Top month), so an Announcements category sorted by New always shows the latest post first.
- Skool members can turn on email for Admin announcements in their notification settings, so a post from an admin can reach their inbox as well as the feed.
create_post asks for your OK by default. To run it weekly without you, switch confirmation off for that tool in your dashboard.
